and OUTER CHARACTERISTICS
Outer Characteristics are to do with what we show to other people/situations. How we say things. What others perceive of us.
Inner Characteristics are to do with a particular condition that determines the reason why we say things, what lies behind an outer appearance or the way something is communicated. These constitute an essential part of the actor's homework as they are very helpful in determining a thought process. Related to Massimo's TIPS.
A Document containing the basics of Rudolph Laban Theory for actors, Developed by Carpenter and Yat Malgram for the Drama Centre London, which helps the actor to analyse, define, and recreate vital energy productions, that is to say all consciously performed physical and vocal activities essential in everyday life and hence acting. Helping you to give a clear sense of purpose and direction and energy to everything you do and say. Body movements are the actor's tools, and even the voice is produced by internal body movements. Related to Massimo's TIPS.
